PEDRO ANTONIO PERALTA
[PhD Student antonio.peraltaATinaoep.mx]. He obtained his Bachelor degree in physics
from the Universidad Autónoma Benito Juárez de Oaxaca in 2014. In 2016, he entered to the electronics MS program in
our Institute, obtaining his degree in 2018; his MS research project was about losses in transmission lines due to the roughness of the metal-dielectric interface.
In 2022, he joined our group for continuing graduate studies. His PhD project is about electromagnetic interaction with topological materials.
Former Students
ADRIÁN TEC.
In 2014, he obtained his MS degree. His MS project was devoted to the development of a method for calculating
the electric field created by a dipole
in the vicinity of two nearby nanospheres (dimer) by using the inversion transformation.
He joined the group of Prof. Edmundo Gutiérrez at INAOE for PhD studies.
OSCAR JIMÉNEZ.
He earned his MS degree in 2015. His thesis was co-directed by Prof. Antonio Badolato,
Prof. Javier Sánchez-Mondragón, and Dr. Jorge R. Zurita-Sánchez. During his MS studies,
he experienced
a research stay aboard at the University of Rochester (USA)
in the group of Prof. Antonio Badolato. For his MS project, as the initial stage to develop an apparatus for
interconnecting two quantum
systems operating at different frequencies, he characterized an up-converter frequency device.
He is currently enrolled in the PhD program at Columbia University (in Prof. Michal Lipson's group).
JAIRO MÉNDEZ. While he was still an undergraduate student from the Instituto Tecnológico de
Cosamaloapan, he joined our group for a professional intership. Then, he entered to MS electronics of our Institute
and earned his MS degree in 2017.
For his thesis, he studied Förster energy
transfer between molecules in the vicinity of two metallic nanospheres (dimer). Now he is a PhD student at
INAOE.
ALEJANDRO GONZAGA. He obtained his Bachelor degree in mechatronics
engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Toluca in 2009. In 2010, he joined our group for
his MS project that dealt with the study of intermolecular
Förster energy transfer in the vicinity of metallic nanostructures and he obtained his MS degree in 2012.
After a short working
period at Universidad Tecnológica del Centro de Veracruz, he again joined our group for
graduate studies, earning his PhD degree in 2018. His PhD project was about harvesting of partially coherent light by nanostructures.
ANA HIZA RAMÍREZ.
When she was an undergraduate student, she joined our group for a short academic stay during the summer of
2012. After earning the Bachelor degree (Electronics Engineering) from the Instituto Tecnológico de
Cosamaloapan, she entered to the MS program of our Institute. Her MS project dealt with
radiative aspects of thermal antennas. She obtained her MS degree in 2018. Currently, she is a PhD student at the
University of North Carolina (Charlotte).
